Letters to the Michigan Department of Conservation requesting free pine and hardwood trees, 1925.

Series 66 of RG 62-16 consists of letters from 1925 to the Michigan Department of Conservation requesting free pine and hardwood trees. In 1924, Michigan local newspapers throughout the state advertised the Lands Division free program. Interested parties could order up to 100 seedlings. Shipment was also free. This series documents the response to that conservation effort. The letters requesting the trees came not only from private individuals, but also businesses throughout the state.
